Boiler Clan-Clash of Clans: War Analysis September 24, 2014

It's Sarah again! In this post I will review the last war from September 24, 2014. We lost 81 - 92.
I thought this could be useful because it seems that you can't view past detailed war logs.

I thought we could use a look at the good things we did with offense first. (Mostly because it's shorter)

Some observations on 3 star attacks:

I watched 10 of the 38 3 star attacks and hoped that was a good enough sample to gather advice. (By the way, we had an equal number of three star attacks at 19. If we could have converted 6 of the 7 losses into two stars, we would have won. Not trying to guilt trip anyone.) Anyway, there were a few common themes. One was that the clan castle troops were generally drawn out first into corners. I did see a strategy where a person drew the clan troops out using a wallbreaker, so that could be an option in getting troops out of a centrally located clan castle.
Three of these ten attacks were almost purely dragons. I like to say that pure dragon attacks are like the one night stand's of clash of clans because dropping a bunch of dragons in one place just kind of feels good and accomplishes the goal, but doesn't require a lot of thought or planning. Keep in mind that it is still a good idea to keep 20 troops free to draw out the clan castle troops. Someone successfully used 5 wizards and a lightning to accomplish this.
Another common thing was that it was easier to three star people with a lower ranking than you and to three star people with high-level troops. I figure that's a given.
When people didn't use dragon armies, they dropped at least 15 giants all in one place (usually a corner it seemed) after the clan castle troops were taken care of. Wizards and hogs were typically dropped quite some time after the giants were. Healing spells were often used on giants. Good placement of a spell went a long way in some of these attacks, so make sure your healing and rage spells are being placed in areas where there is a high density of troops.
